From our heart-warming TV ad to giant video projections to video panels on the London Underground we used all kinds of fabulous and creative ways to tell people about our #SaveAStar Christmas appeal. And it generated a fantastic response on social media.

Many of our celebrity supporters pledged their backing like comedy star Ricky Gervais, who told his millions of fans to donate to us instead of buying his DVD (see his tweet pictured here).

At the time of writing we’d had more than 144 million potential 'impressions' on Twitter (which is the number of people our content could reach), reached more than 3 million people on Facebook and had over 28,000 views on our website.

There were many lovely comments of support from clients too on social media sites which we've shared with colleagues to spread messages of support across our organisation.

The number of donations continued to rise throughout the appeal and such was its success that we exceeded our overall Christmas #SaveAStar appeal target for donated income by 40%.
