The certificates have been framed, the trophies lifted and the speeches delivered – all in celebration of the wonderful winners of our 2016 Volunteer of the Year Awards.

There were smiles all round as our directors travelled far and wide to present the awards that recognise the devotion and commitment of our volunteers. Take a look at our photo gallery to see who’s won what!

The overall champion was Kerry McCleary (pictured with salver and trophy) from Glasgow Shawlands Shop.

She triumphed in the Retail Individual Volunteer of the Year category and carried on her winning ways to be named the Overall Champion for 2016.

Our Director General Jan McLoughlin visited the Shawlands team to present Kerry with her trophies, certificates and Pets at Home vouchers. Kerry was also invited to our Animal Awards event in Edinburgh and was ‘extremely honoured’ to receive a personal letter of congratulations from Finlay Carson MSP (Member of the Scottish Parliament for Galloway and West Dumfries).
